A.J. DeLauder is a West Virginia based playwright, actor, and teacher. His plays include Gracefully Ending, The People at the Edge of Town, Wind Warning, Destiny Recalculated, an adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Books, and a new play c called The Redemption of Rube Moats. His plays have been selected, produced, and/or developed with the Barter’s Festival of Appalachian Plays and Playwrights, The Baltimore Playwrights Festival, New Hampshire Institute of Art, The Eddy Theatre Company, Renaissance House, Theatre Arlington, Theatre on the Lake, Preston High School, and upcoming with Lab Theater Projects of Tampa, Florida in 2017. He is a winner of the 2016 AACT NewPlayFest, an Honorable Mention for the Joe McCabe Memorial Scriptwriting Award, a finalist for the Ohio University-Chillicothe Playwriting Award, and a semi-finalist for the Silverthorne Theatre Best New Play Competition and the Playwright’s First Best New Play Award. His first play, Gracefully Ending, will be published by Dramatic Publishing in the fall/winter of 2016. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild, WV Writers Inc., The Playwrights Center, and a board member of the Preston County Arts Council. MFA from the New Hampshire Institute of Art.
